The Hudson Legal Zurich Project

Would you trust Hudson to ship you off to a foreign country? Better have enough money saved up for a "get out of jail free" return flight.

How do they deal withi issue of work visa for these position? Certainly, there are agencies in Bxlles that staff contract attorneys, and probably also London. Seems odd......are they paying in Euros or dollars? Who is paying for housing, air fare, and food etc. and how do they factor in the cost of living adjustment - unless everyone is living in a local university dorm or hostel?

There is a whole thread on JDUnderground about this project:

This hills are alive with the sound of sweatshops.

Was in Brussels last month and dollar wasn't as bad as now, and things cost a fortune (except the beer) - they should be paying at least $55 an hour.

Will bald, ugly, pathetic asshole Vlad and his buddy David "Dick Sucker" King of the Newark project be going off to supervise this gig?

By the way, did that ehtics complaint against that lying piece of garbage David King aka fag boy ever get off the ground? I hope that worthless homo gets AIDS and that Vlad is one of those 30-something lung cancer victims we see on the TV commericals.

And no, I wouldn't trust Hudson to send me anywhere after their lies and scumbag behavior at Newark.

ANYONE know about some new game where temps are called "Staff Attorneys" but are hired for some short period of time and paid directly by a law firm? Sounds like a scam to get around a firm not being allowed to sub out work by its client, right?

Anonymous said...

it's a better for attys to be staff attorneys rather than lowly temps. You get benefits, e-mail and all of things that you don't get as a temp. It's a better deal the firm pays you directly...jump on it dude.

hey 8:05 PM GET OVER THE FACT THAT YOU WERE CUT FROM THE NEWARK PROJECT. Please move on with your pathetic life. Vlad and King are actually decent people. I am indeed still at the Newark Project, and I have no anger at either of them. It is amazing how much more "professional" things are at that project now that all of you misfits are gone. Just a quick note for all you miserable contract attorney's who were cut 2 months ago from the Newark project and still post your venom on this blog- you all were cut for a REASON! You should possibly find a new CAREER other than law. And the reality is that most of you were a bunch of "contract attorneys for life" and feel slighted because sometimes things just don't work out in the contract world...how pathetic.

Hey 8:05, I have no interest in defending anyone in the management, but the fact that you would use any of those derogatory terms just goes to confirm that you were rightfully slashed from this assignment. Homophobia kills! If you want to make a jab at DK find some other reason, but you really have no right to make those personal attacks, especially when there are plenty of openly gay attorneys working on this project who probably don't appreciate those epithats.

Hey 8:05, I hope you get AIDS from letting some fag junkie fuck you in your mouth and then force you to swallow his poisoned load while you cry for your mother. Eat a bag of dicks you miserable prick.

This blog is full of self loathing, racist and hateful people. You have the audacity to ask for respect? It is 2008 - a women, an African American are running for President. People in this country have fought and died for free speech -this is not what they intended.
The sense of entitlement that is expressed on this blog is shameful. You reap what you sow my friends.Amen.

what kind of human being are you? disgusting pig! sadly, we sit next people like this all day long....gross

why is everyone so anti comments of people who actually have good experiences with agencies? by some of the posts, I wonder why the agencies treat some of you like shit. have some respect, maybe then you will be shown it too.

To 8:05:
Vlad is peower-hungry, and David will lie to your face. As far as being happy you're still on the project, there's no overtime. Talk about a Pyrrhic victory! And don't humor yourself by thinking you are practicing law. We are so far removed from that it's not even funny. But until I get offered a real legal job that pays more than $50K a year, I click away. I just don't delude myself into thinking I'm doing anything resembling legal work.

good post - thanks for keeping clean and real.

8:05- loser

What is truly amazing how is weak and pathetic you all are. If someone brings up any word/concept that doesn't fit into your ignorant, limited view than you immediately snivel and whine and attack the poster.

No wonder you are subjugated by others in the legal profession and left chained to you computer wondering if you have a job tomorrow.

Keep speaking the truth and venting, this is the place for it. If it offends your pet causes or personal sensibilities, too bad.

Know what's funny?

Click, click, motherfucker! Click, Click!

OOPS!

That's funny. Almost as funny as the people here complaining about being fired instead of moving on and getting other jobs.

So when is "temp air" taking off?

Anonymous said...

Word on the street is that "temp air" is wheels up on Tuesday. Anyone going?

Alan Cohen is a sleazebag

If you change Julie Andrews hair to black, we could pretent it is Alan Cohen and laugh at him even more.

Anonymous said...

what's up with hudson non-licensed jobs postings?

Anonymous said...

Um - Switzerland isn't in the EU poster #1. However, I agree that this is a bad bad deal for the temps.

Anonymous said...

hey 8:05 - you may be upset, so was I -- but for everyone else, when they cut around 500 of us at the same time, after directly lying to us all in our faces, a little name calling is fine by me. They don't care anyway.

Anonymous said...

Dear Mr. 11:34... I agree totally with the previous comment. Was there in Newark as well. It was a pigstye and mostly due to the people living there for years of entitlement. I guess thats you.

Anonymous said...

Did tempair take off?

Anonymous said...

Is this for real? Has their really been a hudson project is EU? please give me info... Hell Yah I would go!

Anonymous said...

OH MY GOSH! Switzerland is NOT in the EU you morons

Anonymous said...

The fact that some of my fellow temp attys are ignorant and seem to think that Switzerland is a member of the EU ...really scares me.

Anonymous said...

The terms of the deal changed when the temps got to Zurich. They are now working as sex slaves under the pimpage of Brett P.

Mercer Consulting's annual roundup of the global cities with the best quality of life is here, and Zurich once again comes out on top. The best place in the U.S.? Honolulu at No. 28.

New York, London, and Paris are internationally renowned cities but consultants at Mercer Consulting have picked Zurich, Switzerland, as the best place to live in the company's annual survey.

More from BusinessWeek.com:

• World's Most Expensive Real Estate Markets

• World's Most Affordable Housing Markets

• Countries With Most Millionaire Households

Consultants rated each city on a variety of factors including the level of traffic congestion, air quality, and personal safety reported by expatriates living in more than 600 cities worldwide. In the top 25, U.S. cities such as San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago were all edged out by Geneva, Switzerland, Vancouver, B.C., and Auckland, New Zealand. The highest-scoring U.S. city is Honolulu, which came in at No. 28.

Still, Mercer acknowledges that cities with a high quality of life are not necessarily the most exciting. "There are a lot of 'sleepy' towns that got high ratings," said Rebecca Powers, a principal consultant in human capital for the company. "But if you were to judge them on something like nightlife, there are some that probably wouldn't have rated as high."

No. 1: Zurich, Switzerland

Mercer score: 108*
2007 rank: No. 1
GDP: $300.9 billion (2007 est.)**
Population: 7,581,520 (total country); 347,517 (total city)
Life expectancy: 80.74 years

So what was the outcome? Any report what happened or were they sold on to the Swiss slave market?

I went on this trip, and while Switzerland is beautiful and the work was interesting, Hudson in fact lied to everyone they sent over there. I doubt any of us will be using them again in the near future. Talk about a bait and switch...
