Lowenstein Sandler

TTT,

Forewarn your readers about this dump! The recruiters are fishing around to staff another project here and will lie to your face about how great it is. They claim it is a short commute from NYC, but when you get here you will find yourself in a dangerous ghetto in the outskirt bowels of New Jersey. The guy that runs the place is a major league class act asshole. He brags about taking MBA seminars to make the place more "efficient" which means that there is no talking, cell phones, or internet. If you can't stand the misery or nausea that you develop after working at this dump after a week and decide to jump ship, the agency will blacklist you FOREVER! STAY AWAY, STAY FAR AWAY!

Don't know much about Lowenstein Sandler as a place to work, but I do know that Roseland, NJ is far from a 'ghetto.'

Roseland is right next to Orange. Enough said. Ghetto.

Stay the fuck away from Lowenstein. The only place that makes you buy coupons to pay for lunch. What kind of monopoly bullshit is that?

"Lemme get this straight: no ipod, no internet, no talking, $35 flat, and you have to drive there? You're lucky they fired your ass!"

I really can't believe it. They are so hard up to get people that even the Jersey temps won't go there. I hear they've been reaching for people as far as Brooklyn to go there, with offers of car service from Orange, of all places. So you have to take the subway to take the path to take the train to take a car from ORANGE!!!!! Seriously, maybe Update will start to wake up and drops these hosebags as clients. (And believe me, I'm not supporting Update at all.)

They claim it is only a short 45 minute commute! Subway from Brooklyn, to PATH, to car hop in Orange is a lot longer than 45 minutes. Stay away from that place. Update is so unprofessional that if you leave early for something else they will blacklist you for perpetuity. They shove dog food down your throat for as long as you can take it, and when you can't take it anymore and puke it up, they kick your behind to the curb so fast you won't even know what hit you. With so many TTT grads being pumped out of the NJ sewer mills this year, they know they can get away with it.

And Orange is NOT the place you want to be picked up or dropped off at, unless you are a hooker or drug dealer.

With a name like "Lowenstein Sandler", you'd have to be a country bumpkin to not know what kind of cheap-assed, despicable tightwads you're getting involved with.

We are nothing more than prostitutes with graduate degrees. Wake up and stop deluding yourself.

It's clear Mr. Lowestein and Mr. Sandler want to be serviced in New Jersey and if you too haughty to accept such an assignment the Update pimp will have no more of your kind.

It wasn't toooo bad to work at. There are video cameras everywhere so don't take any breaks. The staff atty was a prick with no personality and on a power glide. NO internet. Can't use your cell phone. Update NJ staffed it. They are more professional than NY Update and actually were nicer than the fat asshole greek peon staff atty that worked for Lowenstein.

There is an Italian Internet Tech woman there who runs the software. She was cute with huge tits, but that novelty wore off after the first week. Few other benefits.

Roseland isn't bad, Orange is a dump. Lowenstein Sandler is a well regarded firm but they will work you to dust. NJ Transit has a train stop in Orange, get the train from Hoboken, it's a reverse commute. If NJ Update is staffing, why worry if you deal w/ NY Update. The lunch issue seem a bit much, looks and sounds like script. The management should also read some articles about productivity; happy employees are more productive.

For $ome rea$on, the law schools do not list temporary attorney work on their glossy brochures, in their orientatoin sessions or in their job placement stats. Does ANYONE go to law school with the intention becoming a contract attorney or working for temp agency hags? And yet, so many end up in this wasteland.

Maybe, someone could videotape the depressed lawyers getting off their stop and entering these sweatshops - and post this on Youtube as a warning to lemmings.

The name of the firm alone indicates what devilry likely takes place there. If you are not of their ilk you need to leave law now.

It's a pit. Plain and simple. Do. Not. Go. Might I recommend the basement at Sullivan or even Paul Weiss over this toolshed.

Better Coder woudn't be caught dead at a place like this.... '

This is great news, this means that litigation is starting back up heavily and rates will go up. It has been awhile since people have been able to turn down projects.

It's not that NJ attorneys wouldn't take these positions. In fact, they preferred them because most drive and didn't want to deal with the commute to N.Y., "double" taxation or the NY temp culture (not that NJ is much better). When I was there, I overheard a conversation where there was a push to get NY licensed lawyers through the door - probably because they would work the late hours more. It's my observation that the NJ temp lawyers had limits whereas the NY lawyers would grind to the end. In such a horrible job market, LS and Update figured they could get some desperate NY lawyers through the door... and evidently, they guessed right : D

The name of the firm is Lowenstein Sandler - dont the two last names themselves tell the wise to stay away?

Anonymous said...

The associates there were nice. The staff attorney who runs the projects is a prick. His face looks like a baboon's ass, and his personality is even less attractive. Update blacklists everyone. If you don't smile at the right person, you are listed.

Just curious, but what is a "major league class act asshole"? Aren't "class act" and "asshole" mutually exclusive?

Anonymous said...

Seriously, what is with the anti-semitic posts? Or, are you too stupid to do some research about the firm and determine that both Lowenstein and Sandler are no longer there, and are almost certainly dead?

Of course not, but your lack of interest or skills clearly is an indicator of your lack of employment.

Anonymous said...

Anti-Semitic quotes don't apply here regardless. The assholes were gentiles.

Anonymous said...

What Lowenstein won't tell you is that halfof the project is staffed with ex-Lowenstein Associates whom they canned.

Stopped it right there - you had it right. Who would hire these losers?

I love reading blogs like these - seeing bitter, unemployed and/or low paid slouches vent and pretend its everyone's fault but their own . Lowenstein Sandler is the highest profit-per-partner firm in New Jersey - yea, they must be a bunch of fkn morons. Plus, you are all temps, that in and of itself should be enough to make you lose all credibility. But yea, keep blaming it on the firms.

Yeah, would the Jew-hater please log off? Glad to see I'm not the only one who is grossed out by Anonymous.

"With a name like Lowenstein Sandler, you'd have to be a country bumpkin to not know what kind of cheap-assed, despicable tightwads you're getting involved with." Excuse me? Who is this anti-Semitic horse's ass who wrote this? Would you please kick him off this site, NOW!

"We are nothing more than prostitutes with graduate degrees. Wake up and stop deluding yourself."

One more delusion to bust - they aren't even grad degrees. They are professional degrees. Anyone who wants to go $100K into hock to get a J.D. after their name can do it. Attorneys are essentially glorified plumbers.

Anonymous said...

What exactly is a temp attorney? Is this what happens when you go to a tier two law school? Or, is this just a Cooley thing?

Anonymous said...

For all you anti-semitic assholes who left the ignorant anti-Jewish comments above, I am ashamed that you live in the USA. You should live in Nazi Germany or Iran.

i work there now in the ny office. the associates r cool. and everone is really nice to ur face, but then they and i dont know who they is go run to the agency about every little thing. Its not a good place to work and I won't go back. I don't need the drama. Lowenstein told the agency to tell us if u don't make it in by 10am don't come in at all.
