Serving The Common Good By Exploiting People In Cockroach Infested Basements

"Then I will try once again, outside of politics, to serve the common good and to move toward the ideals and solutions which I believe can build a future of hope and opportunity for us and for our children."

-Spitzer Resignation Speech, 3/12/08.

I hope this future of "serving the common good" doesn't include a stint at Paul Weiss, as was suggested by the New York Post. Paul Weiss is a shitty law firm that shoves heavily indebted lawyers into cockroach infested basements, makes people work 14 hour days, pays crappy wages and benefits, shamelessly violates labor laws, and fires anyone who complains to the media about dangerous working conditions and potentially unethical billing practices. If Spitzer does eventually wind up working there, at least he will be able to afford more of his high priced hookers without having to rely on anymore of his daddy's trust fund money.

afford what ??? spitzer would only be putting up 50 hour weeks... he is not ready for a 70... what do they pay at Weiss ??

Does anyone know what firms in Delaware staff document reviews? I prefer non-cockroach infested basements and anywhere other than DuPont.

Where are all the women now who once said "I want a man just like Spitzer?" No doubt getting what they deserve with their Spiterzesque men.

Awake bloggers...look at all of the past and intended lay-offs on Wall Street and with investment banks........these people do not even have document review projects to move to next as an interim...they merely get on the bus and head home to mom and dad when it really gets rough....and guess what, it IS going to get real real rough.....count your blessings if you can still pay your rent in 8 months......

12:17-- try HireCounsel. They seem to have projects down there.

Eliot Spitzer was a friend to us when he was AG. He helped generate discovery work of us with several of investigations.

Spitzer has a history with sweatshops - he used to be affiliated with Constantine Cannon. Lloyd Constantine left his law practice to join the Spitzer administration.

Check out the "our team" tab.

So going to Paul Weiss wouldn't be such a stretch. It's also possible that he'll end up with his old mates, I would guess, unless this episode as governor ruined their relationship.

Anyone thinking that Spitzer will have to work 70 hours a week is either delusional or ... Oh, hell, you are just delusional. That's not the way the real world works.

how many times are you going to blog about Paul Weiss and their cockroach infested basements already!?!! Can't you find something else to blog about??! I come to this site once a week, now usually once a month, and its like..its the same damn message over and over again!!! Please find some new victim besides Paul Weiss to blog about, Tom!!! I feel like I am listening to broken record!

It's Paul Weiss.

Sorry, Weiss, you can't solve all of your negative P.R. problems by firing all of your temps and hoping the problem goes away. You were and always will be the mother of all shitty projects.

As an Easter present to my stupidvisor, I let him nag me about some inconsequential procedural matter for five minutes. He really had nothing to do for about three hours this morning, just hanging around and chatting with other stupidvisors, so I thought I'd give him a reason to exist. Now he's back to hiding in his walled doored windowed office, while I tap away in the cube farm.

For my lower level stupidvisors, I bribed them with handfuls of stale Easter candy.

The things I do for paid health insurance benefits!

We Washingtonians still are digesting/choking on the fact that Eliot Spitzer had to IMPORT his service provider from NY to DC on the train. Further evidence that Washingtonians, in the legal center of the universe, really truly are the ugliest unfriendliest least fun entities on earth.

Has anyone noticed how a lot of temp agencies make you fill out the tax forms and then never call? What do they end up doing with this information?

Does anyone know if solomon-page is still in DC? I was hoping to move back to DC and work for them again but I can't find evidence of an office there. There was a guy named Josh running that office and I thought he was great. Love to know how to reach him.

There is this fantastic invention called web browsers with which you could look up the answer to your question yourself. But, since you are asking here, let me just 'No. No, he doesn't. And, no, not they aren't there anymore."

Oh silly people! Spitz will wind up there but in a luxe office with his counsel Teddy Wells who always takes on the cases of very rich and very scary people like Mike Milkin, Scooter Libby and The Spitz. The man has serious bucks and will be many floors above the basement sadly.

hey 9:52 thanks for the info. I am familiar with web browsers but why use them when I can make you my bitch. now go make me a sandwich.
