"Three dozen of the University of California's highest-paid executives are threatening to sue unless UC agrees to spend tens of millions of dollars to dramatically increase retirement benefits for employees earning more than $245,000.

"We believe it is the University's legal, moral and ethical obligation" to increase the benefits, the executives wrote the Board of Regents in a Dec. 9 letter and position paper obtained by The Chronicle.

They truly are pigs. Apparently, this lega, moral and ethical obligation does not extend to students who are paying $35K a year in tuition, to attend these dumps. Remember, these are the same swine who approved UC Irvine's law school.

He walks through the Alaskan winters wearing nothing but shorts and flip-flops. He has had sex with a dozen Haitian hookers without weaing a condom. He yells out the N word at Jay-Z concerts. He is the second dumbest man in the world.

This guy sounds really out there. He deserves the pension just for keeping the job so long.

What a retarded world we live in...at least what a retarded country...sheesh....you really can't make this stuff up kids....

This country's culture is being destroyed by greed. Everywhere you look, people with too much are fighting tooth and nail to take from people who have virtually nothing. Maybe Islam is the way after all.

Hey, you can't blame someone for taking advantage of affirmative action, right?. This motherfucker probably can't even spell his name.

But you can bet he checked the box and got preferential treatment for admission to college, preferential treatment for admission to law school, (more than likely he also benefitted from preferential treatment in how he was graded at both levels of school), and then ... he received preferential treatment in hiring after he "finished" school! (Don't forget, law firms don't want to upset the EEOC!) Then, in spite of his shitty job performance wherever he worked, it was impossible to fire him because of the ever-present threat of of a lawsuit based on race discrimination. (I hate Clarence Thomas, but he knows I'm right about all this stuff.)

So, basically, this guy stumbled through life scraping his knuckles and jaw to the ground, taking advantage of a reverse racist system that disqualifies deserving applicants and job seekers from ever even getting a chance. Now he wants taxpayers to buy his kids a new BMW and a free ticket to the same sham success story he enjoyed.

Fuck him.

An nice piece on Affirmatron Edley.

"Deadly" Edley is an awful teacher who can only write about race.
He always talks and writes about discrimination but he is the world's biggest beneficiary of AA.
He is qualified to be a dish washer.
But knowing how the game is played he's always asking for more welfare, a la this story.

Give it a rest Edley!

I always say that the biggest beneficiaries of law schools are NEVER the law graduates, but the law firms and other employers of law graduates.

Another beneficiary of law schools is the faculty and the administration running the law schools.

In this capitalistic society, why would the law school industry in general make the law graduates the biggest beneficiaries, when the people running the law industry are law firms, employers of law graduates, and the faculty??

As a corollary, college education in the US mainly benefits corporate America, who are the employers of college graduates. Education in America produces workers for corporate America, not citizens for the society.

I'm an MD and a Cal grad. I realize that eversince this dean got hired by Boalt, its ranking has gone down in the rankings: from #6 to #7 and now to #9 (March 2011). Looks like this Dean is doing such a great job. Boalt needs to hire someone far better to preserve the University's legacy of superior academics.

State pension age is the age when people can choose to start getting their State Pension. State pension age used to always be 60 for a woman and 65 for a man. However, state pension age is changing for most people.

I think it's pretty outrageous that this group of highly compensated administrators of a public university are challenging the president and the chair of the Board of Regents.

It took until this year for UC to act. In September, a retirement task force offered Yudof several options for closing the $21.6 billion gap - and one to widen it: increasing executive pensions.
